Thanks for the info, DkN!! It's the most relevant clue since I started looking for information on forums

I would like to make sure I have understood your answer, so here is another question: let's say I've added this new cable to the Ipod/USB connector. I guess it would receive +12V when reverse gear is engaged (signal to ANS in order to change to rear view). Am I right? If so, where can I get this signal from? Maybe CECM-J519 module?

Thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate it

You are correct, but you don't need to get it from anywhere, just add a wire in there. However I need to double check if this has been implemented in V version units (they run slightly older hardware than the M version and require different firmware). If all is well you don't need to do anything else but connect your RVC's power to it, the unit will send power to that pin only in reverse.

Thank you DkN, I'll give it a try in the next days and write down the results here (maybe other forum members can use this information).

My first setup was connecting the camera feed input to a direct +12V source (so it was always fed), and video RCA to ANS-510 CAM-IN RCA input. This setup worked using my TV as ouput (also checked that camera was working), but ANS-510 didn't show anything engaging reverse...!

        • Hi, I have a Skoda Octavia MY12 with Swing Radio unit. This looks to be a different shape than the RNS-510 / ANS-510 etc units. Also my car has manual AC controls. Are you able to confirm the ANS-510 (and future DNS-610 more likely) will fit and integrate properly, including factory rear parking sensors?
Would I need to replace the fascia with something like this:
Octavia II 09- Facelift w/NAVI- dashboard plate MANUAL clima - ALUMINIUM : superskoda.com
And does anyone know where I could obtain this fascia locally and/or cheaper? Thanks.

I think you're talking about this shape, am I right?

This unit will also be available together with the others when the new platform is released. But, there's also nothing wrong with using a dash kit to fit a standard ANS-510 / 810 shape, which is compatible with more cars - it's up to you.

The current ANS series units already integrate fully with factory reverse sensors. the new platform will have full 360 degree sensor integration, which will later also be brought over to the old platform.

            • Yes that is the shape. Great then, I won't have to worry about a new fascia

              • Folks. Coming from a "Knight Rider" Android head unit, I have major concerns about screen brightness. If anyone has used one of those they will know that it's ridiculously bright and switching from night day is useless.
Can anyone please reassure me that the current & new models are simiilar to stock brightness and auto-brightness switching with lights on.

                • Yes
There are 3 levels of initial brightness and dims at night with lights on.

                  edit:
Plus if you press the 'sun' * symbol on the unit you can cycle manually.

                  • Have just received my ans-810 for my octavia RS. Everything is working fine.
Unfortunately it has the vw startup logo and the red gui. Have done some reading in this tread but havent found a solution
On how to change the startup loge. (Found some tread mentioned volume on 2 in radiomode and then press home in 3 sec. ) but nothing happens.
Anyone know some other solution on hov to change the startup logo ?

As fare i can read i have to do a firmware update to change the red gui menu to green. Is that right ?
Have written a couple of mails to audiosources regarding my issues but no reply so fra.!!

                    Thanks

                      • ustolle,

                        Go to the Aux screen.
Press and hold the screen a little above the middle, left edge for several seconds
A hidden menu will become available
                        Press on Modle
You should have the option within this menu to set your key colors and startup logo.
You may have to swipe up on the screen to access all items within that menu.
Good luck - I have noticed that changing some settings has no effect on the system operation, for example, switching OPS to OFF. I have not tried these settings; but maybe they will work for you.

I bought an ans710, but they never have software or firmware updates. Would your firmware work with it? If so, what would thee cost be?

Yes I have firmware available, and I've explained in the first post that my support and updates subscription is $25 AUD. I suggest you message me when I come back from holidays on 27 June though, I'm just taking the opportunity to check the thread with WiFi right now.
