A setting to enable/disable the clock would be nice.MY13 Golf GTI DSG (SOLD)| Candy White | 18" Detroits | Bi-Xenon Headlights | Street Guardian SG9665C

The module itself was last said to be ready at the end of this month, not sure if that is still the case but I think we are getting very close.

Hello everyone, I want to show you a few videos in which I have taken the bag of my ans 810. sorry for my poor english
On the first video as you can see if you have a door open on the screen you see the indication of the door open if you press the button to leave this screen when you close the door again comes the screen with the car with the doors closed and does not disappear until do not press the button to leave this screen, for me this is a bag, the screen should go away on its own after a while.
in the next video you can see that the radio does not work well:
- Loses the frequency when makes into research of the Alternative Frequency
- selecting one of the channels from 2 - 5 positions itself on the first chanale
- changing from Fm1 to Fm2, Fm3, Am not change the names of the stations, sometimes I find the names of the Fm3 on the Am or only freq. when i go from Am to Fm1.
some of you have these errors?

now I show you another radio or maybe just a new version of firmware ans810, I found the video and photos on the Internet.
watch this photo and video and observe the difference with our ans810
in the menu folder(usb/sd/disc…) there is a button "up folder" , i think it's very useful
on the radio, you can immediately see the name of the found station also you can see PTY
and the video
what you think?

Both the door close and radio issues should not happen any more since newer firmware had been released, you just need an update.
Regarding the video, that is a different company, I have come across them before, it is in fact started by a previous employee of Audiosources who took the software with him from an early stage when he left. That's why the overall look is similar but there is a fork in design. You'll notice many limitation too, such as not being able to display reverse sensors at the same time as camera. The up button I already suggested to my technician and it's not hard to implement at all, they just need to get around to it, obviously they have their own plans and schedule. And the PTY display, well what use does it serve? Many design elements in their unit also strays from the RNS look so it detracts from the OEM experience, like the way the SD looks.
So to clarify this is actually a different company, different unit, with somewhat questionable employee ethicsI cannot help you if you go for this unit, you would be on your own. Pricing is similar to the ANS I believe, I am not certain about the hardware they use.

Happy Days
OBD2 is meant to be a standardised way for generic readers to be able to read information, but a lot of the important information are often still specific to a manufacturer, so that's what I mean by significant R&D because there's no way to do it except to do it from scratch by yourself, those who have found how to read the correct specific data for VW will be guarding the information closely. So even if you look at Torque on android, the information it shows is limited and whether it can show boost depends on the car, it claims to have it on cars that have MAF or MAP sensors but it does not work on my Golf 5 TDI. That's why I say even as an OBD module, it is likely not going to have things like boost or timing pull, it will never come close to replacing VCDS.Last edited by DkN; 30-10-2012, 11:58 AM.TR 08 Golf GT TDI, Custom Code Phase 1, Milltek Exhaust, Whiteline RSB + ALK, APR Carbonio Intake

Hey there, I've been following this thread with interest for a while now. I've been swapping emails with Michael at audiosources, which is a bit painful (slow) because of the time difference.
Is there any difference in the ANS510 and ANS810 other than screen size? I've been leaning towards the 510 since it looks more "factory" but wonder if I would regret not getting the bigger screen. Anyone got an opinion?
Also, Michael suggested not getting the nav software from them. Is it relatively easy to get and install?
DkN, if I understand correctly, you offer support for people in the US for a small fee. Would it include the map software?
Thanks.

Finally got round to updating the FW. It seems the USB side is now broken. If USB is the current input and you reboot the unit, it hangs on the Welcome screen. Pressing the menu button does nothing. I found that pressing the Equil button (ASP) brings up that screen. From there, I can press the Menu button which takes me to the USB screen, but doesn't play or recognise the drive. Interestingly, if I unplug the drive it gives a NO usb drive present message (or something like that). It plays the SD card fine and the radio.
Checking the fw version, it shows 20120405. I didn't check what it was prior to updating. The version I downloaded was the '405 one.
I reinstalled the fw, but it does the same thing.
Thoughts?CW MY12 5Dr manual GTI. ANS-810 head unit.
