It's not really an issue, I have always used Kingston 4gb SDHC cards. They are shipped formatted to FAT32 but it's easily formatted to FAT by just using the Windows built-in formatter (right click on drive -> format).TR 08 Golf GT TDI, Custom Code Phase 1, Milltek Exhaust, Whiteline RSB + ALK, APR Carbonio Intake

Any idea at all on whether a Mac computer is also able to re-format the SDHC to FAT? We've only got Mac here unfortunately, and I just want to make sure when I grab an ANS810 from you that I'll be able to do the periodic upgrades you supply?sigpic MY2011 Tiguan 103 TDi 7spd-DSG, Deep Black Pearl Effect, Comfy Pack, MDi, OEM Tow Package, Tint - LOVE this car!

Unfortunately I don't think there's a native way to format to FAT on a Mac (only FAT32). I do think Mac can work with a FAT drive though, so it's best to borrow a Windows computer somewhere and format your SD card to FAT, in the future you wouldn't need to re-format, just delete all and replace with new firmware files.Originally posted by roscoe1974 View PostHi Sandy,

Something I've only just noticed. With the Satnav on, and the car is stationary (engine on), and you press the next/prev buttons on the steering wheel, it will go to the next/start of track (USB/SD card) as expected. If the car is moving, there seems to be a monumental (more than 15 seconds) delay for the action to take place. I don't know if the new fw fixes this as I haven't upgraded yet (still looking for a small size microsd).
Can anyone check this out for me please?CW MY12 5Dr manual GTI. ANS-810 head unit.

The new firmware will make things run faster, but the navigation does take up quite a bit of the RAM, I never had a delay that long though. I suggest turning 3D buildings off under map settings if you find that the unit is unresponsive.Originally posted by starionx View PostSomething I've only just noticed. Hey Sandy,
Hows the it going with the iPod side of things? In particular selecting tracks.
Currently the only way is alphabetically and my unit won't go past the 'C's', pretty much makes it useless.
It would be great if we could select Albums or artists, anything other than alphabetically!

Did you not receive my firmware update email? Browse by artist etc has been implemented but it's still beta with quite a few bugs, you can see how it is working in the new firmware update.Originally posted by spraycanmansam View PostHey Sandy,

Swipe up from the main menu after the latest firmware flash, you will see a full preview of the OBD2 interface. I'll keep everyone posted on availability.Originally posted by DSGVW View Postany updates on the OBD2 functionality?TR 08 Golf GT TDI, Custom Code Phase 1, Milltek Exhaust, Whiteline RSB + ALK, APR Carbonio Intake

On the station changing, I did some tests and found that when it started to station hunt, the AF on the radio screen would start flashing. Also, when I eventually managed to get it to the station I wanted, every so often, the sound would go off and then a second or so later would come back on. This would happen every minute or so.
When I got home I searched for the meaning of this and it turned out that it is related to the RDS function and AF was for Alternate Frequency. Basically if the unit believes the signal was not strong enough, it would try and find an alternate frequency, and while doing this would mute the sound.
I have turned off the RDS function and this turns off the AF function. I'm not too fussed with losing the FM station name.
On future firmware upgrades, any chance of providing scroll buttons on the screen rather than having to waste time trying to swipe to scroll

Still on the old FW, but I believe any audio updates were IPOD related.
The Random track (could be also Repeat... didn't check) function (usb/sd) does not 'stick' when the unit restarts. It always goes back to normal play. This, to me, is almost a deal breaker. If it's fixed with the new FW, I'll update asap. If not, I'm going to put my RCD-510 back in until it is.

There's a few 'little' things like that which make the difference between a run of the mill audio player and one that is a pleasure to use and recommend. For me it's the browse timeout (only 5 secs) and the fact that on start up it will always go back to playing track 1 from the iPod instead of what you were last playing amongst other things. I'd be interested in other people's feedback.Originally posted by starionx View PostStill on the old FW, but I believe any audio updates were IPOD related.

I believe DkN when he says he is pushing hard to get updates so I'm prepared to stay with it a bit longer
BTW KAJKAC, you need to talk to DkN directly to find out why you're not on the mailing list for FW updates.Tiguan MY12 118TSI, white, no frills..... Had ANS810 ... Note the HAD ..... So I just installed the update.....and it did change everything back to Chinese! Can't see any other differences as yet. However, when I select Navigation - it says to create path.
I go into settings, general and can see the primo sitting there. I have tried pushing the "Tick button" on every screen inside those folders but nothing works.....
Any help???
Thanks!

This is the part where you have go to the folder and scroll by swiping up to get to it. It is a pain because the unit thinks you have selected rather than scrolled and takes you elsewhere. You have to keep at it and fortunately it only has to be done once after the upgrade.Originally posted by Big Jase View PostSo I just installed the update.....when I select Navigation - it says to create path.

This is where the firmware should provide a scroll up and scroll down button like the return button. It would make things so much easier.
