DkN, when can we expect the next firmware update? I'm getting antsy!
You can expect BT phonebook alphabetical fix and proper ID3 tag music browsing in iPod mode. OBD function testing is well under way but probably still a couple of releases away. Uncertain what other updates will be included in the coming release but I should have it by the end of the week.
iPod provides all the ID3 info so the software just needs to read it, whereas for USB / SD the browsing has to be re-written to scan all contents and organise files into a proper database etc, so it will take a lot more time.
I feel your pain though, I've never owned an iPhone and never will
So I had a bit of a drive today. Here's what I found.
The screen is nearly impossible to see (wearing sunglasses), sitting normally. Move your head a little to the left, and it's fine. I think this is more a problem with the positioning of these centre type console screens, rather than this unit. It was very hard to make out anything on the screen because of the glare coming from the rear left window. I went to **** Smith and bought http://****smith.com.au/product/XB44...verlay-2pk.jsp Even though it's for an Ipad, I just cut it to size. This reduced the glare, but wearing sunglasses, it's too hard to see the screen because of the double anti glare effect. Not sure what to do about that. Luckily, I do most of my driving at night.
I removed the ipad anti-glare sheet as the screen became to dark (for me) to see at night.
Sitting in the driver's seat today, and with the sunlight blinding out the screen, I suddenly noticed something. When I first got the car, I removed all the headrests except for the drivers (I like to rest my arm on the top of the passenger seat while waiting at the lights). Looking at where the sun was coming through, it was exactly where the headrest would have been. I put it back in and apart from a small section on the left, I can see the screen clearly.
I'm still having issues trying to see the screen clearly while wearing sunglasses, but that's nothing to do with the unit.
Just curious Starionx, but are your sunglasses polarized by any chance? I use to have the same issue on some car stereos when wearing my polarized sunnies )

For those of you (like me) who are overwhelmed by the gazilions of options available in the NAV software, I found a manual for the IGO. I don't know if it's for the same version we have, but it looks pretty similar.
Installed the headunit, I'm getting really bad static at the moment, any ideas on what I can check? When I press the Dimmer button, static is louder on the low setting than the high setting. If I press the Dimmer button so the screen shuts off, the static goes away.

You mean static like cracking noises in the audio? Does it happen on both radio and SD / USB?
