  • Columbus BT questions

So I have my phone hooked up via bluetooth.

Whenever I turn the car on, I get a few seconds of radio, and then it comes up saying "iphone connected" and then it automatically goes to Bluetooth audio and I get no audio as I wasn't playing anything on my phone.

How do I get it to stay on the Radio, or SD card media instead of auto switching to bluetooth audio every time I turn the car on?

Also, when I put the car in reverse, it auto mutes my radio, and comes up with the reverse parking thing. Most of the time, I don't need the reverse parking sensor tone. How do I stop it from always muting my music?

the latest firmware version has an option to turn off BT audio as default. works fine on mine! check the setup menu, its in there somewhere.

there is a mute button on the reverse parking sensor screen. press it next time its active. in the setup menu you can change the volume, however im not sure you can disable it from there. then again ive never tried.

The mute button works, but I need to press it every time. This isnt too much of an issue for me, but the BT audio is really annoying.

Will have a look in the menu's and report back.

if you dont have those options, attempt a firmware update for the columbus unit (check the version required) and it may have the reverse mute feature in it. The BT audio one i know does, as i use it

Excellent - it had the bluetooth audio auto play option , so i've switched it off and hopefully should all be good now

You can deselect the reverse sensors by the button that is next to your gear selector.

Only if you have front and rear sensors.
You don't have the button, if you only have the rears.

And the button is up next to the traction control, under the climate controls in the Octavia.
