  • Buzzing noise from RCD510

I noticed this buzzing noise from the RCD510 when I turned down the volume down. It is just a very soft buzzing noise.

    Does anyone's RCD510 do this?

From the head unit itself, or the speakers? When the volume is low, or muted?

I am not entirely sure if it's the fan. It's like an electronic buzzing noise and seems to come from the head unit itself, when the volume is muted or low.

So anyone with a similar issue or is this normal?

is there a disc in the drive? Not the sound of its motor spinning?

My RNS does this. Very different unit of course, but remember there's a lot of electronics running back there. Could be the screen electronics, or power supply perhaps?

Check out a car at the dealership and see if it does the same thing.

No disc in the unit. I generally don't hear it. It's only between songs that it becomes noticable.

I may pop by the dealer and check out their unit.
