  • Ground in MkIV Bora boot ?

    Hey Guys,

I need a ground in the boot. I have mounted the amps on some MDF in the tyrewell and I have 0 gauge coming from the battery going into a nice Distro block. I need a 0 gauge ground can anyone recommend where to find one or if not, where is the best place to drill without making to much of a mess ?

    Thanks !

You can pretty much ground the Amp to any part of the car's bodywork. If you have a decent ground circuit in the car, then the bodywork will be earthed.

So, look for a bolt that's fitted into the bodywork - usually something like a seatbelt harness or light fitting etc. Then unscrew it, scratch away the paint to ensure a clean contact with bare metal, and earth the amp. Best to use a crimped connector on the earth wire for a solid connection.

    Hope this helps...

seat belt mounts tend to be in very strong areas, and make very good grounds. They are my favourate points.
