  • Can-Bus emulator /simulator

    Hi guys
I have seen this on E-bayeBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d. I am wondering what it can do, and how do I use it.
I have a Golf MK IV GTI, and I have installed a MFD 2 head unit from a toureg. It works fine, however it will not turn off with the key. Also I havent tried to get the navigator to work, but may try to in the near future. I am thinking that I can use this adapter to get Can bus head units to function correctly in my golf, which does not support Can-bus.
Please excuse my ignorance, as although I am very mechanically minded, I have yet to learn the ins and outs of these sophisticated electical systems.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is true. These devices simply take all of the signals that you have in the 2 looms of your existing car wiring (speaker and multi plug) and put them together. In terms of having it provide you all of the speed acknowledgement etc, I am not sure how that one works as it does not actually look like it connects to the can bus loom at all. For the basics of powering on and off and dimming when you turn on the lights this would behave as advertised. And it has a warranty even if it does not.

The device I use is rather more complicated, but that is because I am using NAV and also have all of the details transfer over to the MFD in the dash.

PM me if you need more advice.

Thank you mikinoz, I have done a little more research in regards to the navigation option with this unit. It seems as this is a cd based nav system, no Australian maps were ever available. If this is the case, I may try to source an mfd 3 from a toureg, I believe that this is an sd card based system, and Australian maps are available. I have many more questions for you and I will PM you. Once again thank you so much for your help, I am very grateful.

You can buy an RNS510 for touareg and do it properly.

Sounds like the way to go, my question is, as i dont have an mfd in the instument panel, will the Nav info display on the RNS510 screen ?
Also as my vehicle does not have can bus will i be able to install it with full functionality? (no steering wheel control obviously)
            Bluetooth ?
            Reverse camera ?
Please excuse my ignorance, and once again a big sincere Thank you.
