  • Another bluetooth confusion thread

So I've been doing tons of reading about the various bluetooth options available for our cars with RNS510's, and am even more confused than before.

Which of the 3 retrofit kits here Bluetooth Kits & Parts is the best to use?

You should post it in the VW Audio section , ...to get it answered faster or just search in the Audio section.

basically u want a "kit" - not an "upgrade".
considering u have an my11, u want one with "white mfd" - so that leaves u with:-
        - VW Bluetooth KIT 3C8035730B (9WZ) - Retrofit - white mfd
        - VW Bluetooth KIT 5N0035730D (9W7) - Retrofit - white mfd

it comes down to either 9w7 or 9wz.
the only advantage 9wz has over the 9w7 is that it has an additional feature - it supports rSAP bluetooth profile. hence the additional GSM antennaes (external) that come in the kit for 9wz.

Thank you, exactly the info I was after

Looks like I'll buy the 9wz. Even though my iphone doesn't support rSAP, I'd like to have the facility there for future use.

I bought a 9W7 that supports RSAP and it's cheaper than a 9WZ too - Only two left!

as jameshero already said - the 9w7 most definately doesn't have rsap functionality.
another give away is in the ebay link u provided. u can clearly see there is NO external gsm antenna supplied, nor is there a connector for it on the pictures of the bt unit.
this is a must for rsap functionality. in rsap mode, the bt unit becomes the phone. it uses its own external antenna & power. it doesn't use the mobile.

hence why "its cheaper than a 9wz".

                  Sorry guys, my bad

I must admit that the description was a little misleading....oh well, thankfully it's a feature I don't require.
