  • Bluetooth problem - Mk6 Golf GTi

I have a Nokia C3 phone. The bluetooth connection worked perfectly well in my MY12 Golf GTi since I got the car 4 months ago, but then something happened recently. I didn’t change any settings on the phone or the car.

The phone still connects to the car OK, but whenever I make a call, I can hear the other person, but they can’t hear me. Same thing with receiving calls – I can hear them but they can’t hear me.

I have tried deleting the pairing and starting from scratch but the same thing happened.

There is nothing wrong with the phone itself – it works perfectly when not connected via BT.

I tried connecting my phone to the BT system in our other car and that worked perfectly.

I then tried connecting my wife’s phone to the BT system in the GTi and that worked perfectly also.

    Has anyone had similar problems?

I misread what you wrote initially. This is very puzzling. Consulting a dealership for troubleshooting this issue would perhaps be best. The suggestion below to re-boot the bluetooth interface box under the drivers seat may help also.

I had an issue with the ADAP functionality of my GTI not showing up track titles which was resolved with that method (unplug and replugging it).

The phone kit is located under your drivers seat unplug the connector and plug back in. This should reset it then try connecting.

when you do a voice command, does the car 'hear' you? you said your wife's phone works fine with it? sounds like a problem with the phone

this happens to me intermittently too. they can't hear me. doesn't matter if i call, or they call.
but most of the time, it perfectly fine - loud & clear.
          its weird.

unfortunately my bt unit is installed behind the climatronic controls, so i can't physically reset it.
my bt unit is using the factory fitted voice control mic, via the RNS510 unit.
