RCD310 code

Hi guys..
just upgraded to RCD510 from RCD310 in my new, 2 days old GTI

thinking of putting RCD310 on ebay..where can I find the code for the unit? Do i have to ring dealer for it?

Yes ... they need to dig out your order and look it up on the computer!

Don't fall for the "bull*****", if they tell you they can only retrieve it by hooking a cable up to the car at next service.

when I asked my dealer for the code on mine, they could not retrieve online to VW and had to remove my RNS and reattach the RCD to the car. Only then could they using their VASC retrieve the code.

Yes ... It's definitely a trap for young players.

Need to ask for it as part of taking delivery of your car.

No longer noted down by dealer, as a matter of practice.

they're playing silly buggers then. All the dealership requires is the serial number of the unit.
