Hi guys
have tried installing an rcd310 unit into the golf gti mkv.... havnt updated the canbus yet.
however, without coding the unit ( have to find someone with vagcom yet )
switched on the unit , it was displaying "1000" Safe... i then proceeded to put in the security code
and all the unit does now is say "SAFE" in big letters.. yet when i click the cd button it will start playing a cd....
it gets interesting....
once i switch off the car. it now goes back into this "SAFE" screen and from then on i cant access any function, unless i manually unplug the unit from the rear...
does this mean i have a bogus unit, bogus code (which was supplied by vw so it shouldnt be wrong) or is it a simple matter of coding. the unit in it previously is a mfd2 sat nav.
doing all these trials before i fit my rcd510 in and coding occurs!
