  • RNS-510 LED C / MFD Radio Display

    Hi all,

I am looking for a bit of advice if possible.

My wife has a 2007 VW Touran.
For her birthday I brought a nearly new RNS-510 version C manufactured Feb 2011.
I already knew about the CANBUS update required and had that done at the same time as the RNS-510 was fitted along with an armrest MDI unit for iPod playback <- this was all that she wanted, but I like gadgets

When I picked up the car I was told that nothing would display on the MFD, being a tenacious sort of fellow, I read as many forums as I could and found that by disabling BAP using VCDS the MFD would come to life.
Since I always buy VW's I brought my own VCDS, I removed the BAP bit and reset the 510 and hey presto - I now get NAV displayed in the MFD.

What I don't get is any radio or iPod tracks listed and I'm at a loss as to why.

    Anyone have any clues ?

    Many thanks,
    Darren

    Duh !

    The answer is simple !!

Holding down the bottom of the right stalk whilst the stereo is on opens a menu which contains:
    MFD
    Navigation
    Audio

    Now I feel stupid

Least it's solved and I am really happy with the RNS-510, well worth the effort and investment.

    Cheers,
    Darren
