  • Samsung Galaxy S2 and Mobridge M1000-C-BT

    Hi guys,

Just joined the site after reading a few posts since I got my Golf. I have MK6 GTI with RNS510 and this a Mobridge M1000-C-BT bluetooth module. See below for link.

    CAN Bluetooth | mObridge

Recently I just bought a new Samsung Galaxy S2. Whatever I try, I am unable to pair the phone with the handsfree unit. The phone is running the latest firmware (KE7 Android 2.3.3) . The car is running 3.2.3 of the bluetooth module firmware. The phone just keeps popping up with the message "Unable to pair with Car BT" . The car handsfree shows up fine in the list of bluetooth devices but I cannot pair them together...

Really annoying. Any ideas? I'm quite technical but not too clued up on bluetooth stuff.

Can you pair any other phone with the car BT?
Also make sure your phone is visible the others for pairing.

I had taken the car back to the installers (Fiberdyne) and they replaced the module with one with the latest firmware (323). The car bluetooth works fine with 2 other phones (iPhone 4 and HTC Desire) .

I have tried resetting the phone to defaults using a special code provided by Samsung. They just don't like each other

Anyone know of any bluetooth modules that are known to work with SGS2?

Got my phone book to upload to the car. It required me to have my contacts on the SIM card. All my contacts were syncing via gmail. All working. I even have voice recognition running via the microphone in the car. With turn by turn navigation and voice command, this phone is awesome! Not sure if I will upgrade to a RNS510 now.

So you're happy with your 9W7? Is it a good unit.

Found an ebay seller who will send it to Aus for $150. Anyone know if its hard to install?

Have been doing some reading about it and seems like a good unit. Have you sorted out all the address book issues? Don't really want to store my contacts on the SIM.

I have a HTC Incredible S android 2.3 and before that a Galaxy Ace android 2.2, and 9w7 and had no problem with the call register. only thing that doesn"t work is a I get a square box either side of the bluetooth symbol on the MFD.

Sorry for digging this up. I have an SGS2 and it works well with the bluetooth in my Jetta. I'm not sure what sorta bluetooth system I have but it's probably the premium one? Is the 9w7 = premium bluetooth?

As soon as the dealer paired my phone with the car, it worked instantly. Call register, phonebook all appeared on the RCD510. The only issue i am experiencing at the moment is that whenever i come in the car, start the engine up, the phone pairs with the car automatically, the RCD510 display immediately switches (usually from the media-in screen - playing a song) to the bluetooth screen and starts playing the music files in my phone. I have to manually disconnect the media part of the bluetooth pairing every time. I just want the phone to pair with the car for calls only, not media. I tried playing with the functions around the phone and the car but to no avail.

Other than that, SGS2 works perfectly with regards to phonebook retrieval, call register, call quality etc.

Did you look at the menus in the phone and in the RCD510?
Try pairing the phone again if there was nothing in the menus. Make sure the radio station is ON, rather than media in, while pairing.

Yeah I've checked through the menus in the phone and the RCD510. In fact, there's an option in the SGS2 that allows you to check/uncheck if you want to connect the phone and/or media with the car.

I'll do a re-pairing again later using your suggestions. Thanks!

A quick update on this. I was playing with the RCD510 and I went into Setup, Media and I found that an option "Play Bluetooth audio automatically" was ticked. I unticked it and it worked! Now it doesn't play the music files on my phone (via bluetooth) automatically as soon as my phone pairs with the car.
