  • Alpine INA-W900E & Golf R

There are two threads on this. They both ask a question I need answered, but no one has put their hand up yet.

I'm about to order a Golf R. I'm researching the audio options. At present I have ticked MDI, Bluetooth and Dynaudio. All up $1920 of options.

I am thinking about putting an Alpine INA-W900E in instead.

Q1. Would this mean I don't need to tick the MDI (iPod) & Bluetooth (phone) options?

(If so I'll ditch the Dynaudio as well and put the money towards aftermarket speakers. I already have an amp and sub I can use so would only be looking at front splits).

Q2. The Golf R has rear parking senor as standard. Will it still work with the INA-W900E? (This is the one others have asked.)

    Cheers

Can answer Q1 - no, you won't need bluetooth or MDI as this is built into the 900E.
Q2, not sure of. The reverse "sensors" are the OPS according to the specs.
Not sure how these would interact - whether they would be passed to the HU as a reverse camera image - this would be most logical to me - or whether it is propietary through the Canbus.

I've got the Alpine unit in my 08 Touareg and the reverse sensors work fine, although I can't say about the OPS with the Golf R.
