  • Factory BT vs dealer fitted BT

Apparently the GTI I ordered with factory BT isn't fitted after all. Not happy! The salesdude is prepared to fit it at the dealership for no extra cost. Apart from the visible microphone with the dealer fitted BT, are there any other differences or deficiencies between them? Cheers. S

Bugga...hate that when it happens. Can understand why you are unhappy. Things like BT should be better if factory fitted.

I've had after market BT installed. was told at time of R purchase that factory BT had limitations regarding connectivity to certain brands of phones. this statement was correct at the time, but factory BT was improved. I have after market BT and it works extremely well. can''t see mic as it sits behind rear view mirror.

Factory or OEM BT kit doesn't have the visible mic, so the one they're offering will be 3rd party (maybe Fiscon). Should work fine, just want to check if it does A2DP (Bluetooth Audio Streaming) or not, otherwise should be the same.

Thanks Pepe. I would prefer factory fit. I believe they have found me another GTI with the required options. Hopefully landing in feb. S
