  • RNS 510 - Amp remote line turn-on trigger?

    Hi guys,

Question for you, i've just gone through the process of installing a RNS 510 and Focal Solutions 25A1 which i'm very happy with

I just wanted to ask, those of you who have added amps to an RNS 510 WITHOUT using a LOC, where have you taken your remote turn on line from?

Currently I have just taken it from the IGN trigger from the key, so the amp turns on when you turn the key from off, to IGN where all the dash warning maps come on before you turn to START.

This works fine except you can't listen to the stereo say for 5mins when you are sitting in the car waiting to pick someone up etc, you have to have the key on ACC with all the warning lamps on for the car to start.

The Golf is funny, because apparently the CANbus system switches off ALL accessories after a pre-determined time (15mins or more I think?) so I was hesitant to connect the remote to the ACC line.

    Any help appreciated!

    Dino.

Mine comes from my accessories switch in the ignition. As such if I have my keys turned only part of the way my sub is not on, but if I give it the full turn then my sub is on.

you should be able to use the CD changer remote switch, sorry I don't have one right now to tell you which it is but it would be a wire inside the blue plug in the quadlock.
It's only good for a signal though, can't take much load!

Pete, problem is as I said, when you turn the key off, and want to sit there and play some music say whilst waiting to pick up someone, you need to the turn the key back to IGN for it to switch the amp on, which is annoying.

Lam, CD changer could be the go? Doesn't need to take load as it is just a trigger signal for the amp?

One other question, is there a simple 3.5mm male stereo cable that you can use in the Aux-in for the RNS510?
