HELP Wanted (PAID) - Install RNS510 clone into MK5

Hi all,

(report after the board crash)

as subject suggests.. Looking for someone who is experienced with MK5 installs to help put in a RNS510 clone unit.

This will mean putting in Sat nav antenna, Dual TVB-T tuner antennas.. etc

I'm not sure what else is needed...

Yes there are plenty of guides out there, but I'm not comfortable doing it myself or even taking it to a shop like Strathfield that hasnt done mk5 installs as the plastics dont looks all that strong.

LEt me know if you can help or can recommend someone / shop that can do it

I'd say I'd help if it was genuine RNS, but the risks that can be associated and complete non-sense of some of the codes these aftermarket units cause I'm not game to chance it.

I second mikinoz comments. I bought a Chinese clone and, whilst it fitted, everything functioned, and the facia/screen appearance was good, the sound and radio reception were crap. I was lucky that the Ebay seller was local to me and refunded my money. Genuine is the only way to go.

Hmm from what I hear the sound quality is better than the stock unit?

Theres just no alternatives to Chinese clones... Genuine RNS510 is just not cutting the mustard in terms of features and Sat Nav software so not an option for me..

I certainly did not go to the trouble of removing the stock unit, fitting the clone, removing the clone and finally fitting RNS510 for s--ts and giggles.

suppose not.. but I want unit that plays video, has Dual digital TV tuner, Tom tom or Igo etc..

Bea at Camden GTI is a fully qualified Vw tech, give him a ring he has all the gear to code it to your car.

Nah my dealer wanted $1200 for the install... Reading on here says it can be done in 30 mins to an hour so that is waaaayyy too much
