  • Help with stereo option

so i went to a dealer as i needed a new car asap and they had one golf 118 TSI manual available. Perfect i though. anyway i dont want to pay $2000 for them to do a stereo.
Can i buy a RCD-510 off ebay and then get my Volkswagen dealer to fir it and the MDI and maybe Bluetooth in?

And then get a private installer to do the amp and speakers?

My main worry is that VW dealer will say no or that getting a private installer to do the speakers/amp will void the warranty.

i apologies if there is another thread, i just need an answer as i pick up the car on Tuesday and need to know if i should just fork up the cash and get the dealer to do it all

You could fit the RCD510 yourself.
I believe MDI can also be retrofitted as a DIY.

Blutooth may have to be dealer fitted though.

Personally don't think you need the amp and speaker upgrade as the stock system is good enough unless you are an audiophile

Id rather not play around with it myself as i dont want to wreck anything, and also i still want the steering controls to work. I guess i will get it done and see if the standard audio is enough, my main worry was just about warranty
