RNS510 verC in 05 GTI - Steering wheel buttons don't work

Are there any electronic genius types that know how to fix the steering wheel controls. They use to work with my old standard head unit (the 6 stacker one) but only the volume controls now work with the RNS510. Apparently it's because it's a version C, and older version would've worked. There must be a fix for this?

Also, what parts do I need to connect an ipod to the RNS510 so that it can be controlled through the stereo and not just the ipod.

Hi,

From what i've read you will need to program those functions with a VAG tool.

I'm planning to change my RCD to an RNS 510 so i've been doing some research on this, and I have purchased a new canbus module as apparently the one in my 2007 has battery drain issues. I don't know if this will affect you too.
