  • DIY - OPS for Passat wagon

Anyone tried fitting an OPS themselves? Found an OPS kit on ebay -

8 Sensors - VW Vehicle Parking System OPS PDC RNS MFD3: eBay Motors (item 180493542396 end time Oct-10-10 01:52:30 PDT) or
VW Skoda Vehicle Parking Sensor System OPS PDC RNS MFD3: eBay Motors (item 180468884632 end time Sep-10-10 15:38:12 PDT)

I'm wondering if I need to replace the sensors on the car or not (and how do I go about colour matching?). I don't get the car for another week or so, so I can't tell what sensors are already on the car yet.

    Any advice appreciated, thx.

I looked at doing this on my sedan and researched heavily on vwnavi.com. It's my understanding that you don't need to change the sensors for a passat (in fact people with golfs have to buy passat sensors). All that's required is to replace the optical control until and reprogramme the CANBUS. I never actually was able to confirm this though. There are long threads on it on vwnavi.com.

Well I picked up the car today, and guess what, it has OPS installed (doh!). I could have sworn that was an option I wasn't getting.. Pity I was so impatient I ordered the OPS before the car arrived!

Anyone want to buy an OEM VW OPS system.. going cheap (I'll let it go less the shipping I paid on ebay).
