  • Replacing Facotry speakers/amp ?

I have the factory amp with my GTI. From reading this forum i gather it will be best if i replace it with a better amp and new speakers. Does the factory amp make this type of install big fuk around? Can the factory wiring be used to connect to the new amp or will everything need to be re-wired ?

Alternatively should I just stick with the factory amp with RNS-510 and new speakers/sub ?

I will be interested in the replies to this too.

I am replacing my factory speakers with Polk components (which of course come with cross-overs). I am also putting in a 50Wx4 Pioneer AVIC head unit in and by-passing the factory amp (which has built-in crossovers).

There is lots of discussion on this subject
