  • How to watch DVD whilst driving using the RNS510 NAV on GTI.

    guys,
anyone out there know how to watch dvds whilst the car is in motion?
I've found a link on youtube that teaches how to do it, but i suspect it is for non Aus cars.
Apparently they say when you are stopped, you hit the Information button and then the Tone button, then drive off and it will continue to play.
However, I have no Info button to press! hmmm?

That button pushing method doesn't work on new cars as it seems to have been disabled...

good point, it is illegal i know.
but not for me, just gives the passengers something to do on the long drives up to the snow or on road trips.

Info button is the "i" button on the right side of the DVD slot.

I know in some cars, its linked to the handbrake. So If you apply like maybe 2mm of lift on the brake (but its not actually braking) It MIGHT do the trick. Might not. Best of luck. Would love to know how to do this for when im on my private track.

Tux is correct so bad news for you and GREAT news for the rest of us road users. There is no way you can concentrate with anything playing on the screen even if it is not intended viewing for you. I know as I can do this on my RNS510. REXman's suggestion is half correct -- except you need to pull it a bit further than 2mm,say 80 to 100mm and when in your garage.
