  • Faulty speakers?

Has anyone had issues with the standard speaker blowing or failing? Ever since new, there has been a rattle in the rear door tweeter that has now turned into a very disturbing crackling noise. This is particularly noticeable in songs with a baseline in certain frequencies.

I asked the dealer to sort it out at the last service and they ordered in a front speaker instead...stupid...beacuse I told them the fault is in the rear.

Anyway, now the other rear door is starting to do the same.

Or is it just the door panels vibrating, not the speaker itself?

While I enjoy my music, I have not had it to a point that would cause damage.

Now you come to mention it. The passenger small tweeter in the door did crackle/fuzz out sometimes, but it seems to have stopped now.
I put it down to dodgy equipment at the radio station I listen to as they were having problems with one of the CD players they were using at the time.
If its not the radio station, I'd be pretty disappointed as I've not had the volume up more than halfway the whole time

I had exactly the same issue with my Golf. Had it replaced through warranty.

          They're 50c speakers, can't expect too much.

Standard speakers in all cars are utter rubbish, spend $400 and change them all out
