RCD510 vs RNS510 question

these are the differences between the two models i know of. pls let me know if there's anything missing.

1. navigation.
2. dvd player.
3. internal memory
4. i saw tv was listed. ( not sure if it's got tv broadcast for AUS channels)

im planning to purchase one from ebay. Not sure if it's worth the extra $1200. pls give some opinions.

You can get an RNS510 from ebay (uk seller) for $1150 landed so i would go for that instead.
Satnav is a nice addition to have just in case and the harddrive is a nice touch.

Have heard tv can be set up but i don't need it and haven't tried it.

TV is provided by an extra component that you have to buy. I don't know where to get them from nor do I know if they are compatible here.

in that case, i probably wont upgrade.
since gps is no biggie for me
i already have a gps unit.
i was more interested in the entertainment side, eg tv and playing avi files.

Fair enough.

For music you just need an MP3 player of sorts to connect to the AUX jack, or you can use an SD card for the RCD510.

How do people rate the sound quality of the RCD510 vs the RNS510 in systems where an external 3rd party amp is used? Is there any difference at all?

I don't think you'd find a sample size big enough to answer that question. I don't think there's any difference between the two models re. sound quality, but I have not tested this.
