My MY08 passat was being serviced today and I asked about updating the firmware on the RNS510 to try and get my voice control working.. The bloke said they had been told by VW not to do it any more as units are being bricked... Any one else heard this?

hmm....I haven`t heard that...I picked my GTI up about a month ago, and they updated the firmware for me on deliveryScirocco R - Candy White / DSG / Panoramic Roof / RNS510

My car was ordered with factory fit Sat nav but it arrived without one. The dealer fitted it but they reckon they can't get the voice activation working. I doubt it's the same problem as yours but they don't seem to know what they're doing.tornado red GTI MkVI, 5dr, DSG, Sat Nav, RVC, MDI.
