Thanks for all the support guys, very much appreciated. Wish I lived in VIC!!

Will take a look at the phase and see whats what. One little problem is that I dont know how to take off the door trims to check. I'm guessing thats where the crossovers have been put... I see no holes or things to unscrew??

      My invoice has on it:
Stinger 5m twisted RCA cable $18.18
      Fuse Holder $22.73
installation of splits adn amp $170.45 (yes that typo is actually there)
      installation of deck $102.28
      Solder, tape etc $4.54
      gst = $31.82
      tot = $350.00

        what a load of ****.
If you walked into my store off the street.

        Install Deck $80
        Install Amp and Splits $180
Stinger wiring kit incl Rcas and fuse holder ~$75

and it wouldnt have looked like that!

**Edit** dont worry about doing it at the crossover, just do it on the amp.
        **Edit 2** thats inc GST

Next time I'll just put the car on a truck, you can do it then send it back to me, k?

I do have sound from the tweeters, so I thought i'd do it at the crossover. I'll head out and check the amp now anyway.

          Congrats on 500 posts

Try checking that everything is wired corectly. + to +, - to -. That what i would do first. then if you still have no bass, get back to me.
Tried and no luck. The woofers are dead silent. Dont even feel anything when placing my hand on the speaker grills.

I'm ringing the shop that did the install tomorrow and will be taking to the manager.
Fingers crossed they'll rip it all out and start again, this time with the RIGHT cabling and charge very very little for it.

Try locating all the MP3s to a dedicated folder, with all your other files in another folder. It works well on mine! So well that I went out and bought a 2GB USB stick to dedicate a lot of my music too haha.

Pity to hear about the install. Keep us updated.

sounds like they may not have even wired them up.... probably had a trainee working on it (sorry science hahaha)

if your speakers are under the factory grills, use a small flat blade screwdriver at the base and pop the cover off and take a look if they actually put your speakers in!!!

$5 says they havent wired them in!

Just rang em, explained the situation and they said call back at 3pm! Complete bull****!

According to them too, Stinger and Sound Quest are one and the same! Sif!

The speakers are in there, I might go attack em with a screw driver now and see whats what. Yeah i'm pretty sure it was a trainee who worked on the car, he was young and didnt look too happy when he handed the keys back to me.

Sound Quest is made by Stinger, but its their cheap range i think.

just because its made by stinger doesnt make it stinger.

just because a holden is made by gm doesnt mean you can go around saying you have a chev right?

Well the new chevs use the same engine as the holdens... hehe

Westside Car Audio has a few branches over here, so rang one of the others, gave them the story and theyre going to fix it all thurs morning.
Basically theyre going to yank it all out and start again, use audison cables and make it work. Fingers crossed hey?

                          Finally, good news!

Took it back this evening and they sorted it all out for me. Even put on a DVD for me to watch in the waiting room whilst they did their stuff. DOA has alot of hotties

As it turns out, the high pass filter on the HU was the reason for no woofer action.
The tweeters got moved, all the cabling was redone properly with audison and it sounds damn fantastic!

Now just gotta wait for it all to bed-in and I have myself a sweet stezza

Mostly. Took a good look at it all on the weekend and they've reused the old speaker wire. Seems a bit daft when u have a higher-end HU, a sweet amp and higher-end splits All audison cabling otherwise tho.

Soundwise... it could be better. I'm thinking its mostly the burn in period for the gear and then it'll need a proper tune.

WONT be taking it back to west side car audio to get one tho.

                                Le Update:
Have been fiddling with the crossover in the HU. Sounds much nicer now

Still cant get the MP3's on a usb stick to work, bah!

Also thinking of getting dynamat put in the doors at some stage.
