  • Changing over RCD310 (Golf 6-TDI 2010) with RCD510 (Golf GTI 2010).

    Hi.

I want to change my RCD310 unit on my Golf VI - 2010 with Park Assist to the RCD510 from a Golf GTI VI 2010. I've acquired an RCD510 from a friend of mine who just purchased a GTI early this month. I've range VW Service Centres - Barloworld and Chatswood Classic - no one can give me a straight answer and i'm hoping someone in this forum is more knowledgeable.

Can you swap the 2 radios outright without the need to enter the code or need to do some programming?

Hoping someone could shed some light on this...

    Thanks.

Did you get an answer on this? I am interested in doing the same.

I swapped RCD300 to RCD510 in my MKV GTI, had to get aeriel adaptor ($56 from VW dealer). Whilst it works OK and steering wheel button work OK, I can't get access to the fader control nor will it read SD cards.

I have tried getting it fixed via VCDS but no luck. Can anyone help?

I've just swapped out RCD310 for RNS510 without requiring any VCDS recoding on a Golf 6. If you read this thread there's a video link.

The Golfmk6 forum also has a thread that is useful.
