Hi im installing a rns510 into a mk5 golf gti 2006 model what cables will I need to get it working correctly? The origanal cd player I have is a rcd300. and is there anything elese i need to do to get it working or is it a direct plug in?

You need a new antenna connection, possibly (probably) a new gateway, you may also have an external diversity unit that needs work and that's about it.Originally posted by ma160802 View Post

thanks for your reply maverick i have checked my build date and its july 2006 and The part number of the rns510 that i have bought is 1TO 035 680 B. What antenna upgrade do you recommend? is there a kit that i can buy? by looking at the link provided i think i have the setup of Aerial systems 06.05 > (going off the build date) with the stand alone rcd 500 radio system setup.
im hoping that my rns510 comes with firmware ver 1100 and that i wont have to change the gatway. is it only with the new 2660 firmware you need to change the gateway? and is it worth upgrading to the newer firmware?
and regarding the external density unit , will this cable work? becuase i bought one last week ? and how do i install it ? do i need the bypass?
