^ if your in nsw, fhrx is definately a very good option!

        in victoria:
tower audio (in oakleigh) did my install, i looked around alot and i decided to go with them. theres also:

        stylyn (in boronia and moorabin)
freeway car audio (malvern and dandenong)
        GL pro sound (essendon)
        phatt audi concepts

(((they are all very high quality installers)))
like everything..you get what you pay for.

edit: in my opinion, the install is just as important as the system.

I used Tower Audio for my Audi Phat Noise & Car Phone Kit install - very nice job.

Unfortunately they are not a Pioneer dealer and since I am putting in the Pioneer AVIC-HD3 into my new Jetta they cannot do it.

Currently I have Autobarn in Fountain gate pegged to do the install.

Has anyone a bit more info on the 2007 Jetta speaker system. Does the speakers cut the mustard or do they require replacement.

Also, does the Jetta have a sub-woofer as part of the standard 8 speaker system?

          Cheers,
          Geoff.

Phat Audio is the shiz, if you go to them tell Sam that Andy from autobarn sent you

and if you go to stylin talk to Travis he is the man.

First up, you might want to check that the jetta doesn't have a cam-bus set up. from what im told, the mk 5's do. And if it doesnt, any installer should be able to install your deck. The beuty of new decks is that all the wires are color coded.

As for the rest of it, just start crawling around in the car listening for bass notes, you may find the sub. but it might not, being an 8 speaker set up, if it whre 9, i'd say yes it has one.

Someone correct me if im wrong, but dont mk5's have a 3 way set up in the front, and then a rear fill in the rear doors? that would make 8 speakers in total.

Had a good talk with Gareth from Autobarn Narre Warren today.
He told me that only certain Pioneer dealers have the approval of Pioneer to install the AVIC-HD3 due to the higher degree of difficulty installing the unit. Pioneer will not provide tech support to unqualified installers (I fully understand this as our installers need the proper training and qualifications to install our gear as well).

Nothing worse than having an unqualified person f&^cking up a job - try and claim warranty then :\

Currently in the process of arranging for Barloworld Glen Waverley teeing up the install from Autobarn so I can claim the complete car purchase (including AVIC installation) on my lease - bit harder than I thought.

                      K.
Car is in today at Autobarn being fitted with the Pioneer AVIC-HD3 + a car alarm.
Both systems need various CAN bus interfaces to make them work - which equals more money

Anyway, the upshot of this is that I will now have my Phat Noise system to sell. I will pop this onto the for sale section in the next few days.

                        Any recommended installers in Brisbane?

Wondering if anyone has had a good experience with installation of a Parrot bluetooth system in Brisbane?

If its quality you want, theres only one place to go in melbourne

Phat Audio concepts in Braeside , Sam does an amazing job and its apparent from the second you start talking to him that he is super passionate about what he does.

he did my Bora a few months ago and did the best job, he is not one of these mind my french...."JB Hi Fi" type ****s (no offence to anyone that uses them) that do botch jobs with cheap wiring, you pay for it but I cannot recommend him enough. He has done my hubby's cars and friends cars for years and always wins comps with his work.

Pioneer 7in touch screen DVD/6 disc in dash (ipod cable run to console)
Alpine V12, 5 channel pro amp

Has any1 got any installation pix from people in sydney cause ive seen mates get it done and ive had a look and its usually a pretty crappy job and dont use the wire they ask for and they dont use connectors and stuff.

I do all my own cars and ma mates cars and I know its cause im picky and usually doesnt make a difference but i always like to make sure that everything is terminated properly so you can always disconnect it easily if you have to and then cable tie everything up, or tape depending so its not a big mess. I know its bein picky but as they say if u want something done right do it urself lol and im just a pain in the a55 sometimes when it comes to this sorta stuff cause i like it to be perfect and ive found unless ur looking over the shoulder of the installer it usually doesnt get done properly and they short cut things and stuff.

Anyways thats my 2 bobs worth

                              Cheers
