  • First time aerial installation in a Mk1

    Hi All

I have to install an aerial in my MK1 which has never had one before.

Do I just drill a hole from the inside of the LHS wheel arch once the aerial is fitted to the guard into the cabin somewhere or is there a hole there or rubber gromet already so I can put the aerial cable through and connect it to the stereo? I had a look yesterday with a torch but I could not see a hole ar anything there already...

Any ideas, photos or how to do it is greatly appreciated

    Thanks!

Should be a hole already for the ariel. From memory it comes out the firewall, and then through the inner gaurd and goes up to the top of the LH fender. It should be reasonably easy to spot from inside where the fuse box is, and then through where it comes out the firewall. you shouldn't have to drill anything, should all be there from factory.

Here are the two holes sorry the one inside is in a difficult spot to take a photo - I don't have a fender handy to show you where it attaches sorry.
      Hope this helps a bit.

I'm going to the pub... I may be some time...
