Hi all, l have been on ebay and found these guys in Queensland who state they sell the genuine RNs 510 for 1495.00 dollars, has anyone tried these guys at all and it states it has 12 months warranty.l have supplied the link below:

Also if l were to put in my own RNS510 do l have to change any settings in the vag-com , or will it just work (l own a mark V golf) Sorry for my ignorance

I'd be cautious about buying unless they can prove to you it's genuine, not stolen, and comes with the map DVD.

Buying these things "new" in theory is only possible through VW. They don't resell them for other people to sell. It's like a Bang and Olufsen TV - if places other than a B&O store is offering them new then you think twice...

If you fit it yourself yes you will need to change stuff with VAGCOM.

I've purchased 2 x RNS 510 units from this guy on eBay. Both units are like new and work perfectly, one I've had in my car for near 12 months and the other was purchased just before Xmas '09 and has been in the son's car now for 3 months, all OK. The guy is great to deal with and the units were shipped to the door within a week. Hi Russ59, it seems that this guy sells the Version B. Did you get a version B or C? Does your SD card slot play SDHC cards or the maximum being only 2G? Did he supply you with the Australian map DVD as well?

haha just did - thanks to a helpful forum member who finished setting up the RNS for me with vagcom yesterday

Is there a thread that has the instructions on upgrading? I'm planning on replacing a RCD310 with RNS510 and thought there wasn't much more to it besides connecting the cables, mounting the GPS receiver, turning the unit on and typing in the 4 digit code...

Does anyone know of a place in melbourne that will install these units , as well as skoda bluetooth units that I have already purchased?

I am hesitant to do it my self and don't have vagcom etc

I tried volkspower and they wont do it
