I am about to embark on the removal of what VW describe as 'OEM Integrated Bluetooth'.
What a load of rubbish - how I wish that I had read these forums before ordering it. A Parrot (or even Nokia) at 1/2 the price can do more!
I understand that I will find a Nokia once I have the RNS out - can anyone advise about the removal....I wonder if I am going to be faced with wires to be rearranged etc.
I have the Nokia wiring detail but wonder what VW did with respect to integration ie I presume that it uses the VW microphone, but how is this interfaced and how is the audio interfaced?
Then in with a Fiscon! Plus the adventures of VAG-COM!
Thanks
From my intro post:
In ordering 'OEM Bluetooth' I presumed that I would at least be able to make calls legally from the car. Goodness, I had a Parrot in the Subaru (at less than 1/2 the $ price for the VW OEM) and at least on that I could push a button and make a call. Is the Bluetooth offered by VW really of 'merchantable quality' when it cannot be used to legally make calls? May the ACCC would take interest? I understand from these forums that the VW offering in Australia is based on a Nokia unit - why then is the standard Nokia 'push to call' button not available to the driver? I am still awaiting a response from my dealer about either fixing the problem or removing the unit and refunding the $. At least they agree 'the one that you currently have I guess not suitable for you in any way'.
