  • Sound deadener, and repairing window regs...

I had my old car stereo eqipment re-installed by FHRX when i got my car over a year ago, before i knew about the window clips that fail on the MkIV's...

Question is, how difficult does dynomat on your doors make this repair job?
(I plan to do both front doors before they actually brake...)

Fortunately when they do the installs they take before and after shots so if i need to work out where the inspection ports or whatver are, shouldn't be too hard i don't think...

    thanks

Remember you can pull the deadening off without 'too' much effort. This is one of the reasons we use Dynamat over many other deadeners. Just recently I pulled all six layers off my doors so my paintless dent removal guy could take some little dings out for me.

Does it generally all come off in one piece ok or do you end up with sticky patches around the edges?

Whilst it is a bit of a mission to get off, it can be done with patience and a sharp spatula (paint removal tool for example). It doesn't completely fall apart like some deadeners do because of the aluminium skin it has.
