On the way home tonight i noticed that everytime an email lands, a calander appointment pops up or i unlock the key pad, it mutes the radio.
Are you able to shed any light on how i might be able to resolve these issues? I have the kufatec Fiscon.

Turn off A2DP and just connect the bluetooth for phone functions. But really using a second rate bluetooth kit with a second rate phone is just asking for trouble, you can generally get away with one or the other but put the two together and you're asking for problems.

I love the way the Google Nexus One works with it's car dock, it communicates with bluetooth to the skoda car kit which works flawlessly but also communicates with bluetooth at the same time to it's car dock which has amplified speakers for all other alerts like email, trapster alerts and so forth which you can adjust separately and they don't interrupt the head unit and you can still get the alerts when on a phone call.

My iphone works flawlessly with the VW/Skoda bluetooth kit, so it's not the phone.

Thanks Done that. I also turned off all the audio notifications on the handset and that seems to solve the issue...so no more interruptions. I wont make any comments re i-phone just yet (given i have been a very strong advocate for Black Berry) but i will defend the car kit. I have paired it with numerous handsets and it has been bullet proof and never missed a beat.

Thanks for your response and looks like my problem is solved.

          You missed what I said.

In your case you have a second rate handset being used with a first rate bluetooth kit so you won't have a problem.

But if you mix second rate with second rate that's when you start having problems

Bluetooth Audio streaming is very second rate sound quality anyway, and pointless.

I can see what you are getting at, i wouldn't mind getting a better phone that has a battery life of over 1 day, however all the large screen handsets probably don't have a chance (including the google phone).

Would be good not to make steve jobs ant richer.

Ps The new Alpine nav could be interesting and apparently teaming up with Nokia.. Ideally it's good if your bluetooth kit works with everything like the VW/Skoda one.

Your dealer won't / can't order it simply because it's a Skoda part number, not a VW one. Skoda dealers can order it, and will price it for you, but will tell you it's at your own risk yada yada as it's not going into a Skoda. If you get it from eBay you can install it yourself, it's not hard to do, or yes you could go to Volkspower and they will do the whole thing, but you'll be $1000 worse off. I wouldn't recommend you get the dealer to do it unless they are comfortable with doing it and have done a few already.

                    Pauly,
Which Balroworld are you going thru?
I have asked the same question to Glen Waverley. They are investigating!
My car is due in the next 2 weeks. Hopefully, if they see there is some demand in it, they will come to the party.
Will let you know how I go.
