Let us know how you go with the sale....I am about to do exactly the same!
Just waiting for some nylon tools and a VAG-COM cable...may as well have a play!
I (finally) made up my mind !
I have decided to get the "Volkswagen Premium" bluetooth kit offered by Barloworld Mascot. But don't be fooled ! It's not the "VW Premium kit" as described there http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/newf...ad.php?t=31461 as option 4.
Barloworld is actually installing the Skoda kit (option 3). I also found out that they currently install the newest version 1Z0 035 729 "E" !
They charge $1495 for it and can be placed either behind the dashboard or under the driver's seat.
The kit is NOT using rSAP and has voice control features too.
I'll just have to wait 3.5 months for the car now...

Haven't heard of that before, are they supplying it too? How much fitted?
Hi Ankush, can confirm this kit is excellent, I purchased the same unit about 6 weeks ago, it arrived from poland in 4 days!!! It is made in germany by becker. I have installed it in my MY10 update Passat that already has voice control for the RNS510, and everything works! fantastic unit, connects easily every time etc. only problem is it doesn't download my phone book from my phone - Nokia N95 8gb but it does download it from my wifes phone - Nokia 6760. go figure. But yes, very pleased with service and product from this guy in poland.

I have ordered from Barloworld in Victoria. Do you know what part number it is? Or what you asked for to make sure you didn't get the crippled RSAP Bluetooth kit?

Cheers.
It was a bit of a pain as the sales people on the floor did not know what they were offering... They first refer to it as "VW Premium Bluetooth kit" but with no rSAP... I got in touch with their Delivery coordinator who forwarded me to the people they source the Bluetooth kit from. I then got all the information I wanted from their supplier.
I would recommend you to investigate until you have confirmation of the Part number otherwise you may end-up with an rSAP system...
I bought my Golf from Barloworld in Victoria, and it came with Premium Bluetooth. Mine is definitely the rSAP version. That was 12 months ago though and they may have learnt something since then.

Good luck !
Would you by any chance still have the information you got from their supplier? As i'm assuming that since it's Barloworld that would have agreements set up across the country with the same suppliers.
I was planning on going to volkspower to get the kit installed after I got the car, but if I can get the dealer to do this, it would be preferred.
Anyways, if you still have that information, please let me know.
1. VW Basic unit
2. FISCON Basic Plus
3. Skoda 9W3
4. VW Premium Kit
2. this looks like the best value for money. My only issue is: would a VW dealer order & install it for me? Or would the dealer install it if I supply it? Would my warranty be voided if I get it installed by a third party? If not, who would you recommend?
Just had this installed on Friday for $990 in Melbourne. (I know you're in NSW) I love it, syncs fully with the 510 and also comes up on my MFD. FYI Barloworld in moorabbin gave me no other options other than the usual factory ones. I brought somewhere else in the end and am glad I didn't go the dealer option.
Apart from a little grief with the local dealer (which worked out well for me in the end), my Skoda (729E) kit from Poland has behaved flawlessly.
Phonebook and call register download just fine and they are available in the MFD. Sound quality is fine and callers say the background noise is pretty low.
It would be nice to reconfigure to support voice control of the RNS510, but that can wait for the moment.

Great to hear it's all working well. I wouldn't be too fussed about the voice control. I have it and even after recording the custom names for people in my address book it's still a mile off recognition. I'd be lucky if it works 1 in 10 times. The favourites on the screen is the way to go.
