Email Notifications Failing (mostly Telstra)
Hello everyone. Seems there is an issue with Telstra (possible others) blocking email from our server. If you are trying to sign up I would suggest a different email if possible. If you're trying to reset your password and it fails please use the Contact Us page:
I have searched intensively in the RNS-510 settings and menus but can not seem to find an option to switch the address input keyboard to a qwerty one.
Anyone know how to do this?
Cheers
I dont think this can be done.As the rns eliminates non viable letters anyway it should only be 4-5 screen/key presses at most anyways to enter a address
Thanks for the reply. That may be the case but as it also does not allow you to select your state so all of the suburb combinations for the whole of Australia are available in the suburb field. Really should be a QWERTY keyboard, very frustrating-this is a serious design fault of an otherwise brilliant product.
It would be a nice touch as I am also used to typingn on qwerty's and keyboards. Takes a bit longer to find the characters in alphabetical order but would hardly call it a serious design fault. No device is 100% perfect! Just be lucky you can search street names as some units you have to know what suburb it's in.
It also shortens the results as you type the word in which i think is awesome.
dont get me wrong it craps all over the subaru and honda ones ive had, awsome resolution and 3d grahics but i feel like a retard tryring to find letters buttons.
Also when you have music playing and pause it, then stop the car, restart it and the music resumes which i find annoying. If i pause the music i expect it to stay paused until i un-pause it. There seems to be no way to just trun off the music. Am I missing something here?
But thats the point, I dont want to have to switch sources, or listen to music everytime i turn on the car. I shouldnt have to mute the music everytime I turn on the car. I should be able to turn on the car and just use the sat nav with out having to wait until the unit welcome screen finishes (while music is playing) and then pause the music.
i love music (i am a musician) and when i listen to it i like to enjoy the experience but i dont need it constanly playing at me all the time after i have already turned it off!
Maybe Im getting old!
PS I am still interested in your speakers and amp if you still have them.
Being a musician i'd concentrate on audio upgrades instead of worrying about if you miss 15 seconds of a song. how can you remember where it's up to anyway by the time you get back in?
I'll probably end up keeping the gear, not really in a rush to sell it, cheers.
1) No qwerty keyboard in the RNS-510(the only gps I have come accross which does not have this feature) and
2) No way to switch off music playing whilst using the gps function except by pausing-whereby it will resume playing (un-pause) if you turn off the gps or car and turn it on again.
Interstingly if you are part way through guidance to a destination and you turn off the car, when you turn on the car again it does not resume guidance and you have to re-enable it. But it will turn on the music even if you have paused it (as there is no stop button).
I'd usually want music playing while using GPS, dont see the problem to be honest. Some of those chinese knock offs cant play music while GPS is working.
