Not very clear on website, but is that a CD map or a DVD map???
With that many POI and the listing just saying pre 2008 Golf V, I am thinking this is a DVD map?
I wonder if they have a cheap CD version as well or have they stopped updating the CD maps?PM if you are looking for: R32 rear sway bar; R32 suspension springs; Euro Headlight switches

No idea...but given that even the DVD discs for the RNS510 only have a few hundred MB of data on them, I don't think it makes any difference. I think it may be CDROM based media.
Being pre 2008 that means it is definitely only for the MFD2 or earlier VW nav systems, I don't know much about those though... I don't have one of them - can anyone that has one comment on whether the maps disc is DVD or CD?
EDIT - the graphic of the disc looks to me like it has the CDROM logo on it, not DVD.

Rang their "helpline" number.
Just said it would "work" because unit is pre June 2008 as per their listing.
They could not grasp the concept that a DVD won't actually play in a CD nav.
It does say DX though, which sort of implies it is the old CD based system.Last edited by graeme86; 15-02-2010, 12:58 PM.PM if you are looking for: R32 rear sway bar; R32 suspension springs; Euro Headlight switches

LOL... it does look like the compact disc logo though. I don't think it's DVD.
My previous car (Mazda 6) had a VDO Dayton unit with Whereis supplied disc and that was a CD too. Had no problem fitting all the Aussie data on it. Whilst we are a big country, we don't have many roads...When you think the Euro systems have all of Western Europe on a DVD...
