  • Mdi & usb

I pick up my Golf tommorow morning (yay !) and have the factory fitted MDI, which I believe comes standard with the USB connection.

Question is how do you format the folders, (ie where do you put them in relation to artist, etc) on the drive ? Does it have to be devoted just to music - what if I've got pictures and other stuff on there already ?

Also I have a Mac, does it have to be Windows/FAT32 formatted at all ?

USB flash drives don't need to be formatted.

If you are talking about external hard drives though, you would want to choose the FAT32 format.

I had 250gb western digital with NTFS file system and it wasn't recognised. When I formatted it to FAT32 using this tool here, it worked a treat.

The manual describes about the Root and Subfolders, I just wanna play music In saying that, I've already tried it with one USB stick, works fine so far !
