Interesting thing happened when i reconnected my battery. The volume controls on the steering wheel work now. Still no mfd integration but this really is not a problem.

I am concerned about something hopefully you can help me out here Maverick. Even when the car and gps are both completely turned off I can still hear a whirring noise coming from inside the gps unit. Surley this is not right, it must be draining the battery.

Hopefully it will start when i leave work today.

The RNS unit remains partially powered after the car is turned off for I think up to 30 minutes? Go back to the car in half an hour and see if it is still whirring (I assume that will be a fan running that you can hear, or possibly the hard drive spinning)

Just had a quick look and after car has been switched off for 2 hours, rns is still making a whirring noise. Is this normal?

I have another small issue with the rns-510. I followed Mavericks guide on loading mp3's on to the hdd. I made 2 blank dvd's with "Music" as the root folder on both. When i try to copy the Music folder from the 2nd disc it says it will delete the other music folder if I continue because they have the same name. So I had to put it inside the other "Music" folder. Does anyone know how to get around this?

I ended up with a directory strucutre on the hdd like this:

            Music/folder1
            /folder2
            /folder3
            /folder4
            /folder5
            /Music/folder1
            /Music/folder2
            etc

Another stupid question. Downloaded all 4 parts of the 2660 firmware from Maverick's site. When you extract each file it prompts to overwrite the file you just extracted, Is this correct? Do i tell winrar to overwrite each file?

                  Cheers

There were only 3 parts via Rapidshare IIR, the 4th file was an alternative site with a single download, rather than 3 parts. You only need to extract the one "megaupload" file. Otherwise, just extract the first of the 3 Rapidshare files.

Extract from one of the RARs. If the others are in the same folder it will extract the entire file automagically from all four pieces.
