Hi.
New here. Please be gentle.
I have posted this query on another VW forum too so apologies if you see this twice!!
I have a GTI with the RCD 500 audio unit to which I added a CAN based Dension 100 Gateway allowing me to view and select ipod data in the MFD. All working fabulously until I took the car in for its first service when the techs discovered a "wrong code" on the radio unit and "fixed" it for me. This resulted in the prompt disappearance of the iPod interface in the MFD.
The pod is unable to be used via its scroll wheel(its in gateway mode) and I can still hear audio as well as skip tracks up and down but have no access to playlists etc, track info and so on.
I have contacted Dension but so far they are unable to fix it. the company that installed the Gateway are going to come out and remove then reinstall it. They believe that may fix it...at a cost obviously.
Another forum suggested that I disconnect the battery or one of the fuses as this may reset the unit. I am going to do that after work today.
Does anyone have any experience with this kind of thing or any other ideas to trouble shoot?
I have tried re-initialising the unit's text capabilities via the following method but to no avail: http://www.dension.com/index.php?pageID=13&articleID=53
Appreciate any help.
