Its great to see something serious is goin on. You cant say its not worth it when you get a whole row of shop windows shaking on 2 stories.

Cant wait to see how it turns out. What sort of numbers do you expect to achive?
    exactly Thanks mate!!

Expecting over 160db It will be primarily designed for low music with a switchable port for SPL, aiming to take the super street 5 + record .

Unfortunatly i cant afford that lol ,

Thinking maybe some 18 or 19" VW rims or VW replicas (anyone know a place where i can get some dirt cheap ??)
and lowering if the weight of all the gear dosent lower it enough LOL.

More updates soon, I start the wall wednesday

Going to get to get a massive bank of batteries, not entirly sure yet, possibly absorbed power.

As for the alts, not sure, my current one is stuffed, drawing 3 amps of current when everything is turned off so i need a new one, but cannot find a 200A + alt that will bolt directly up, to a VW transporter, and i cant be stuffed bolting up a bracket.

considering i will be rarely turning it up to ~160 for more then a few seconds its not even that necessary, it will be so efficent it will do 150's from 500 watts

Anyone have any ideas where i can find big alts that fit a 97 transporter ?
They want $480 for a genuine bosch 90A (same as stock)....

Also i wont be starting the wall till next week or so now argh!

                  thanks for loooking

                        Ask GolfLoon he would know.

Have a look at a VR6 alternator, its 120amps and its just like any other mk3 and mk4 alt. Im prity sure the transporter alt would be the same. IIRC Loon wants around $150 for a vr6 alt.

Try some merc alts, some of the bigger mercs had 150amps.

I have no idea where to get 200+amp alts, i did look but no luck. Most people sugested geting one rebuilt/rewound for 200amps but then the auto sparky said it wont charge at idel.

Any progress on the build so far?

OK, for the last few days phil from DG imports Australia and I have been working on the VW

We had a CNC machine cut the baffle out

                              Test build,

Used steel braces to reinforce the box as much as we could.
                              to be welded

                              Braced

shaped the back to fit in with the wheel wells.

                                Woooo!

When we got to this stage i was just standing there nearly asleep, while phil kept running back and forward making up the trim pannels,
                                he is a machine!!

                                port ??

                                Trimmed up

                                Woofers in

Quick video, off just over 1000watts, my amps come soon

                                Thanks
