Re: Optional Dynaudio - How does it sound?

Maybe check with the dealer then, unless anyone else with a golf + dyn option can confirm. I couldn't see anything from the pic in the PDF.

I know the Golf 6 Comforline only has the Dyn logo on the tweeters in the A pillar. I'm pretty sure the GTI is the same.

Hi, for what its worth, I have had two Passats with Dynaudio, first a R36 Sedan, amazing sound, incredible bass from no subwoofer, most people ask where the sub is when they hear it.

my current car is a Passat wagon also with dynaudio, it sounds just as good, probably a bit more spacial due to the larger area of the wagon.

I would not have bought the car if it did not have Dynaudio, I had a fairly good listen to the stock R36 system before purchase and thought it was chalk and cheese. very happy with it.

1/I opted for Dynaudio and apart from a plashscreen, when I start the car and the Dynaudio word on the Apillar tweeters, there's no othjer indication that the other 6 speakers are of the same brand.Have I been gipped?
2/Is it possible to get Sirius radio here in Aus?If so, how do you go about it.?
3/does the Rns 510 have the latest upgrade available-It told me of two roundabouts near home, which haven't been there for a couple of years.
          Thanks Nardini
Congrats! I picked up my GTI a couple of days ago and the Dynaudio is a pretty sweet system - but yes can confirm that the Dynaudio logos are only on the A-piller tweeters (which I actually prefer since if it is plastered on every speaker, it'd look a bit kitsch)

Sirius is a subscriptions-based satellite radio service and is only available in North America.

Though I do wish that the TP service works here in Australia - as far as I'm aware none of the stations here in Aus actually do proper TP broadcasts (even though here in Sydney WSFM and MIX106.5 are TP-enabled according to the RCD510).

I am about to buy a MK6 with Dynaudio system. Just out of curiosity has anyone installed a after market RNS copy with one of these setups. I am running a Maisun MT6505 in my current MK5. I want to do the same to the MK6 with the latest version of the radio but before I order I just want to be sure it will work.

              Dynaudio

being amusic aficionado & wondering if Dynaudio is worth, i went to test the Lexus is250 MarkLevinson music system loading my favourite songs in USB. I was told that 14 speakers are there in is250 which gives a crystal clear sound. To me it was just another music system doesnt matter how much did i played with equalizers in IS250. I wonder what 14 speakers do there...honestly. Straight went to VW to test Dynaudio with same USB......Excellent sound quality...total theater bass & complete sound clarity. Again went back to Lexus to listen to Marklevinson....this time even more unimpressive after listening to Dynaudio. $1700 sound worth to me if you love your music. Lexus claims Marklevinson is the best music system available in their premium range.... ......Congratulations to VW for picking Dynaudio....

so does the dynaudio have full tunability thru the rcd510 touchscreen?
im not much of a music guy, listen using an ipod, but i have an ok system in my current car that i like, which has been tuned well for my listening tastes.
i just want to know if u run an amp and small sub thru a dynaudio, how the system handles tuning it?

Recently had two mk VI golfs side by side - one with dynadio and one without.
I thought it was like chalk and cheese - the clarity of the dynaudio was crisp and distinct. I would now like to find out if the golf with the dynaudio was excite or esotech.

I would also like to know if there is sound deadening in the doors because if there isn't I expect dynamat would also improve the acoustics further.

Yeah the Dyn system is way better than the stock setup. If you like your music it's money well spent. The MK6 Golfs use the excite system. 4x 5.7" woofers and 2x 1.1" soft dome tweeters and a 300w RMS amp under the passenger seat.

I'm pretty sure the door skins have a sound deadening on them put the inner card where the speakers are mounted to are plastic so you get a bit of drumming. I covered half the inner card with Dynamat and it made a huge improvement. Gave the system more volume and bass. I actually had to turn my bass down a few levels. The Dynamat also eliminated some of the rattles in the doors you get with loud music.

To make sure I wasn't going to get any rattles I also insulated the wires and latch cable in foam. Another tip is to run some sticky back foam along the bottom edge of the door card. This helps pack the door card out so when you tighten up the bottom torx screw it's a nice tight fit. From new it would rattle really bad with loud music. The door card would vibrate on the door frame. Nothing worse than having rattles with a good quality system.

I've pretty much eliminated all rattles associated with loud music and I'm very happy with my system!

Has anyone wired up a small sub to the stock Dynaudio amp?
say unplug the rears, connect direct to head unit, then use the amplified wires for the sub?

Problem would be no low pass filter or gain control. Sub would be trying to play higher frequencies and would not like it. Would be very difficult to tune if at all.

My 8" pioneer is set at 60Hz through a JL XD200/2. Combine that with the fact the Dynaudio won't let anything much below 40Hz to the sub either and it is using 200W RMS to handle a very narrow range of frequencies. Sound quality with sub is night and day.
