    Hi All,

Im looking at buying a bluetooth kit for my MK5 09 Golf.

I'm thinking of upgrading to the RCD510 or RNS510 later downor if i can stretch the track and want a kit that is capable of talking with it properly.

Im Looking at the skoda unit 1Z0 035 729 B (for red dot mfds) or the fiscon unit

For the mean time i want it to work with my MFD but its only a half hight unit will it still display the call details and menus ? All the pictures i see are for full hight mfds

    If got a MK5 TDI Edition 09

Half height MFD will display exactly nothing.

It would operate just like a normal bluetooth unit just with no display but with voice dialling (if you have a MFSW).

I'd recommend the Skoda kit. I've heard the Fiscon doesn't work as well as OEM and i know a few people who have sold it to get the Skoda kit (some freezing up issues and the call clarity isn't as good plus the boost display doesn't work on some cars). You can't really beat the OEM factory equipment.

The Skoda kit now also integrates pefectly with the latest RNS-510 firmware to include voice commands for many other functions.

Half height MFD not sure, but you can still control it through the RNS510/RCD510.
