I just compared their online price for a Pioneer AVIC FB900T $1799.00 with another more well known seller Ryda http://www.ryda.com.au/Pioneer-GPS-Navigation-s/408.htm which is asking $1698.85 so in this specific comparison they are not as cheap.

I should call up Alpine and get them in trouble.
This would most likely result in you and Alpine breaching the Trade Practices Act for resale price maintenance.
The fines are huge so think carefully before you take such action.Carer for my partner's Eos 2.0 TDI DSG MY09 Candy White/Cornsilk Beige leather trim.

Well last time I checked I wasn't allowed to sign up as a sponsor since I don't own a Vdub and any posts I make advertising my site would be deleted, hence why I don't make posts about my company.
I don't spend much time on here so I never got around to posting up an intro thread saying who I am so I will do that now.
And pardon me for making a joke about the online sale of Alpine. Last time I spoke with the national sales manager (if I remember his position correctly) they forbid the online sale of their products as do a number of brands. I don't see how I could get into trouble for informing a company about how their products are being sold.
And I don't appreciate being called a spammer.
I hope that clears a couple of things up.Joe Bellissimo

IMHO an experienced Trade Practices lawyer would have minimal difficulty in proving a supplier making this prohibition in today's marketing environment would be committing "Restraint of Trade" and "Resale Price Maintenance" offences under the Trade Practices Act.
Your referral would probable constitute "Resale Price Maintenance" as you are trying to increase prices by removing a lower-priced competitor. I suggest Joe should do some research on the fines that apply in Australia for this offence.Carer for my partner's Eos 2.0 TDI DSG MY09 Candy White/Cornsilk Beige leather trim.

Resale Price Maintenance doesn't apply if the goods are supplied to the dealer on consignment. I don't know how Alpine conducts their business, but if they are supplying dealers on consignment the goods remain the property of Alpine and that gives them significantly more rights to dictate how their agent (the dealer) creates the contract of sale with the end customer.
Unless anyone here can comment with authority on the specific arrangements in place with Alpine, their dealers, or this specific place that is reselling the product, then I would suggest that the topic is probably pretty pointless..
