RCD510 MDI Ipod compatibility

Hi I was wondering which ipods are compatible with the MDI. I have an iphone, ipod nano 1st Gen and a ipod 3rd Gen. The iphone and nano are compatible but the 3rd gen ipod isnt.

My ipod 5.5g works fine so does the iphone 3g (incl v3.0).

I have just upgraded my RCD510 to RNS510 and had an MDI installed as well.

My iPod touch seems to work, but I was hoping to buy a new iPod classic (or better still buy a new iPod hopefully that will be announced 09.09.09 at the Apple iPod event.

Anyone have a current generation iPod? Does it charge as well as give you full on screen operability on your RCD510/RNS510?
