  • Setting up Voice Dialling on Skoda Bluetooth

I've just had the 9W3 kit installed along with an RNS 510 - still learning the ropes but even though my contacts all appear, the 'voice' says no phonebooks installed and I don't know what commands the unit is looking for... any ideas?

    ps

    the clarity is exceptional.

      Hi!!

I've got a couple of questions...

      1. When you said your "contacts all appear".. do you mean.. that when someone calls you, their contact/name appears on your MFD? Or do you mean, you can scroll through the phonebook in your RNS510?

      2. What handphone are you currently using?

      I'm using a RNS510 with Fiscon Pro.
On a Nokia E71, the phone book synchs very well and you can see the Phone Book in RNS510 updated with all the contact info.

When using another Windows Mobile 6 phone, however, I cannot synch the contact list very well... so.. there is NO phone book info in the RNS510, but I did notice that some people's name do appear currently on the MFD when they dial in.

      Cheers

The phonebook when you use the voice control is one that is saved in the car no matter what handset you use. You create entries in the Skoda system and assign a voice tag to them so one touch of the button allows you to dial using the voice tag.

I've just put a page up on how the system works and some of the commands etc that you can find here.

          Mav.

Awesome work on those commands. Big Kudos. I have been looking for them for 2 weeks now and no one could tell me about them.

The funny thing i found was my Iphone 3g would not work by default but when i connect my wifes 3gs it has voice tags and we could dial using those.

So it must passthough the voice tags?

ill give it a shot tonight and let you know the details..

Does your * key mute or mute and give a beep when you press it?

It's not unusual for this part to not be coded and it definitely works with the iPhone 3G. It works independently of the 3gs and works with any phone.

If it just mutes you'll need to get the steering wheel coded, I have the details on my website how to do this but it does require either a dealer or someone with Vagcom/VCDS to perform the work.
