Can you rewind / fast forward within a track when playing a media track (i.e. from my iPod or USB stick with MDI)?

I listen to Audio books on my iPod, and often the "tracks" are an hour long. The MDI locks the iPod's interface completely, so you can't skip back a bit from the iPod. I know there's the previous / next, but wondering if there's a way to move within the current track?

Spiff, you are a legend. That isn't written anywhere that I could see in the manuals, and nowhere online could I find it.
