  • Mark V factory IPOD adaptor

    Hi Guys,

I picked up my GTI yesterday and the dealer had installed a factory Ipod adaptor..very nice as I didnt pay for it

The problem is it sounds like crap, crackles in songs and has little to no bass...the headunit works fine on the radio and when playing a CD.

Anyone else had this issue ?

    Cheers
    Dave.

    YES -

Sounds like crap and crackles in songs = I upgraded all the songs to 256kps or 320kps - and it makes a noticeable difference.

Little or no Bass = Same here, but again, can't do much apart from upgrading all the songs - but even that doesn't really help here.. Only thing you can do is install a small subwoofer under the driver's seat which helps quite a bit.

and Yes, the head unit sounds fine playing CDs... but even if its too loud, the default speakers or (door trims) don't do the songs any justice - even if you get the door trims and clips replaced.
