Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

  • Wiring a new radio in a 1996 VWT4

    I posted the thread below in Transporter Forum a couple of days ago but as yet have had no replies, so I'm hoping this this might be a more appropriate area to get some assistance.

    Basically what I'm wanting to know is can I simply replace the existing power wiring from the old radio to the new radio by using the constant/battery (red or pink), accessory/ignition (red/brown) and the ground (orange or black) and ignore all other wires, besides speaker wires, which have their own separate harness.
